The Montessori TeacherThe Montessori teachers closely monitor their students’ progress, keeping the level of challenge high. Montessori teachers are highly motivated and often use the children’s interests to enrich the curriculum and provide alternate avenues for accomplishment and success. The role of a Montessori teacher is one of guide and observer, whose ultimate goal is to educate the whole child and instill a love for learning. The teacher builds an atmosphere of calm, order and joy in the classroom and encourages the children in all their efforts, thus promoting self-confidence, leadership, and discipline. With the younger students, the teacher is a guide, demonstrating the use of materials and presenting activities based on an assessment of the child’s needs. Knowing when to observe how, and when to intervene is a skill the Montessori teacher develops during a rigorous, specialized course of training at training centres throughout the world. All our teachers hold a Montessori teaching diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or an equivalent MACTE accredited training centre. Our assistants are ECE trained, or have a Montessori Assistant training diploma from an accredited teacher program.
